Siemens was opening their first US-based nacelle plant (nacelles are those big things at the top of a wind turbine that the blades are attached to). After a lengthy search for a location, they settled on Hutchinson, Kansas. We created short film documentaries about the plant’s opening. It was an interesting project as we were tasked with longer form filmmaking as opposed to traditional 30 or 60 second spots. The films focused not only on the plant, but how its opening changed the lives of those who lived in Hutchinson, or “Hutch” as the locals call it. Parts Two and Three are below.
